The Legal Briefing Notes Generator is designed so that I hold none of your information. This policy explains why, and your rights.
Your notes never leave your device
Everything you type into a briefing note, including client names, case numbers and the content of your advice, is processed locally in your web browser. The Word documents are generated on your device using client-side libraries and are not uploaded to me or to anyone else. There is no server that receives them, and I cannot see them. Work saved with the Export Backup feature is stored as a file on your own device. The author name you enter is also kept in your browser's local storage so it is remembered next time; it is never transmitted anywhere.
My Briefing Notes stays on your device
Briefing notes you keep in My Briefing Notes are stored only in this browser on this device, using the browser's own local storage. Nothing is uploaded, and I cannot see any of it. The browser can clear that storage, and Safari in particular may remove it after a period of inactivity, so use Export Backup to keep a permanent copy of a note or to move it to another device. If you are using a shared computer, export what you need and then delete your briefing notes from My Briefing Notes when you have finished.
No account and no data collection
You do not need an account, and there is no sign-in. The generator collects no personal data about you: there is no server to receive it, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies, and nothing you type is transmitted anywhere.

Retention
Because nothing you enter reaches me, there is nothing for me to retain. I keep no copies of your briefing notes at any time.
Your rights
I hold no personal data about you through this tool, so there is nothing to access, correct, delete or port. You may still complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you have a concern, and you can contact me at the address above about anything in this policy.
